The story of William Wilberforce's 18th-century campaigns for the British abolition of slavery, his confrontation of public indifference and invested opposition in pursuit of social justice. Amazing Grace gives witness to the history of exploitation that has kept sugar on kitchen tables for centuries.
Afterwards, L. Sasha Gora will lead a discussion of the film's portrayal of the connections between sugar and slavery.
