Imagination: A Collaborative Civic Network of Care

Imagination is an open lecture from curator and visual artist Jeanne van Heeswijk. Much of Jeanne's work focuses on the intersections of art and social practise, and the relationships between space, geography and urban renewal.

Our cities are experiencing sudden and rapid growth, we are seeing a shift in racial and economic demographics. Shifts that inevitably lead to shifts in political priorities that determine the distribution of resources for community based and social service organisations and initiatives. There is an immediate and imperative need for those who work within these realms to strengthen their networks, build organisational capacity, secure resources, and fortify political influence to ensure that social justice efforts are the foundation for all city priorities – including the arts.
