Based on the novel by José Saramago, this lyrical, surreal fairy tale, the Spanish peninsula tears away from France and is propelled like a huge stone raft toward a catastrophic collision. Five ordinary people are brought together when they each experience a different supernatural phenomenon. Crammed together into a tiny car with an unusually friendly dog to guide them, they embark on a strange adventure searching for answers, traveling through a world gone mad.
