Commission to Create an Artwork for the CCA's Learning Space | Open Call

We are looking for an artist or designer, living or studying in Glasgow, to create an artwork for the window doors of the CCA’s new Learning Space.

CCA’s Learning Space will be on the ground floor of the building and is one of the ways the CCA aims to increase access to contemporary art. The Learning Space is a designated space for workshops, school trips and drop-in activities.


We would like the sliding doors to the Learning Space to have an inviting, colourful design on them. The doors are made up of three sliding glass doors, each with two panels of glass, as seen in this diagram (see downloads for photographs). The doors overlap each other so please consider this in your design.

• Inviting and colourful

• Represents the ethos of the Learning Space, a welcoming space aiming to improve access to contemporary art and ideas for young people

• Design to be painted onto the windows

• Must be some clear space in each window panel to allow light and people to see through

• Commission payment of £510 for design

• Additional SAU day rates available for yourself or a mural artist
