May Day, Govan, 1920

A day dedicated to international working class solidarity with whole families joining the public celebrations. However working multiple jobs, long hours and precarious contracts is common practice today, yet May Day traces its origins to the people's fight for a shorter working day. Glasgow tradition saw thousands on Glasgow Green in large marquees but in recent memory these numbers are now diminished with location erratic.
