Natasha Lall enjoys queering public memory. Her work re-writes the value systems of historical canons, to prioritise undocumented 'low' histories. In the case of her CCA residency, she will be toying with the value systems of audio technical history. She parallels forgettable childish music technology with overlooked childhood gender and race troubles. With an awareness of the inevitable distress of re-visiting painful memories, she segues her emotional journey to something else she believes to be worthy of better documentation. This being the beloved music players and toys of her youth. Audio-technical archiving is her therapy.
