Amy Pickles & Sally Hackett Umbilical Cords

Umbilical Cords is the closing event for Amy Pickles and Sally Hackett's residency in CCA's Creative Lab.

As artists and workshop facilitators Sally and Amy have been exploring naïve elements and influences from childhood on their work with the people who gave them their first learning experience, their Mums.

Their Mums are educators.Together they have been discussing the influence socially engaged work has on their practices, while assessing it alongside the educational system to ask where and how artistic activity is nurtured in today’s society.

Amy, Sally, Sara and Lindy will be hosting a unique workshop on Sunday 17th July, to open up their conversations and celebrate the cycle of creative life! It will be drop in so participants are welcome to stay for all or part of the afternoon.

Please bring a partner. This could be your Mummy, your Daddy, someone you see as a Mummy, someone you see as a Daddy, someone who sees you as a Mummy, someone who sees you as a Daddy, someone you see as a Baby or someone who sees you as a Baby. Someone you care for or who cares for you.

Feel free to come alone too - unaccompanied guests will be provided with a surrogate.
