Barricadia: Artist and curator exhibition tour

Join us on Glasgow Open Doors Weekend for a tour with the artist Sahej Rahal, discussing his new solo exhibition at CCA. Along with CCA Curator Ainslie Roddick, the artist will guide us through the imagined temporary land of Barricadia.

Barricadia centres on a grimoire, a book of magic spells, and a collection of artefacts excavated from this imaginary space – charting its borders and histories. The objects and narratives that construct the exhibition stitch together fictional encounters, historical fact and contemporary political events in India, such as the peaceful ‘not in my name’ protests that followed a series of Islamophobic lynchings across the country.

The tour is open to all. The artist will describe his working method and the process of building the exhibition and objects, with questions welcome from the audience. This tour will have BSL interpretation from Karen Forbes.
