Burgerz
Travis Alabanza

Hurled words. Thrown objects. Dodged Burgers.

After someone threw a burger at them and shouted a transphobic slur, performance artist Travis Alabanza became obsessed with burgers. How they’re made, how they feel, and smell. How they travel through the air. How the mayonnaise feels on your skin.

This show is the climax of their obsession – exploring how trans bodies survive and how, by them reclaiming an act of violence, we can address our own complicity.

Carving out a place for themselves as one of the UK’s prominent trans voices, Alabanza presents a performance that is timely, unsettling and powerful.

“Audacious, funny and straight to the fucking point” – Exeunt

Ghost Dimensions
Project X

Ghost Dimensions is a collaborative process across both performance disciplines and physical and virtual borders. Collectively, Mele Broomes & Ashanti Harris (Project X, Glasgow) with Tseliso Monaheng and Healer Oran (Johannesburg) interpret the body as a repository of incorporated histories which are both internalised and externalised. Ghost Dimensions explores themes of Identities, imposing architecture and the environments we move in. Experimenting with visibility, Ghost Dimensions asks; Who is seen? How are they seen? Through what lens? On what platform? Combining live and recorded sounds, cinematography, installation and live performance, Ghost Dimensions pulls together scattered forms to create a work which is flexible, adaptable and transformative.

Mullet Over: Craig Manson

Mullet Over is a series of informal chats accompanying Double Thrills. This month we'll be joined by one of our favourite artists; Craig Manson. Craig Manson is a performer and live artist whose work is centred on the commercialisation of Queer culture, specifically looking at how cis, gay men are heralded as the poster boys for the LGBTQIA+ community. He mainly works with dance, comedy and improvisation to make work that ranges from funny theatre shows to gentle performance actions. Currently he is an associate artist at Platform to develop 'Gayboys', a performance featuring Conner Milliken. He has performed extensively around the Queer club and cabaret scene in Glasgow, and presented work around the UK in association with Buzzcut, Take Me Somewhere, CCA, The Yard, Camden People's Theatre and The Arches.

Performances will be BSL Interpreted.
