A surreal performance lecture given by a holy fool. Zigzagging through Western and Eastern philosophy from modern to ancient times, individual, social, and material relations are cross-examined, whilst a series of states become altered with time.

Commissioned by FADO Performance Art Centre in 2022.

Presented in partnership with The Rhubarb Festival

Claudia Edwards

Claudia Edwards (they/them) is a performance artist based in Toronto, Canada. Of Indo-Guyanese and British descent, their work explores issues of identity, memory, queerness, power, and decolonization, often through the vocabularies of embodiment, absurdism, and the queer trickster tradition. Their approach is conceptually driven, spanning relational performance, experimental dance, photography, video, text, and objects. Edwards has created works for FADO Performance Art Centre, Flux Factory, Rhubarb Festival and more, and has presented performance in festivals and galleries across Canada, the US, the UK, and live online.
