Callum Easter and Naima Bock

Singer and multi-instrumentalist Callum Easter presents his second album, System. Callum has always been a force of nature. He thrives on impulse and spontaneity, balancing that with an impeccable song writing craftsmanship. It makes even the more outré moments of his current batch of mutated soul punk/rock‘n’roll instantly arresting. Like his second album, his debut Here or Now was released on Lost Map Records. Here and Now also went went on to be shortlisted for the Scottish Album of the Year Award by popular vote.

System was recorded in Callum’s Edinburgh studio. It's an exhilarating odyssey into his mind that’s by turns fiercely political and deeply personal. It bustles with a brash, maximalist vigour, that draws a line under his previous work. Instead, it charges exhilaratingly forwards – beginning a journey that he describes as a “descent into ordinary madness”.
