Laurence Figgis, Brin Frost and Zoe Williams: Castles of Illusion

An interest in the creation of internalised worlds is made manifest, drawing on aspects of the surreal, the uncanny, the precious and the abject, using ornamental sculpture, collage and film. The works on show appear at first to be drawn from a rich concoction of soap-opera, luxury commodity and primal myth. However on closer inspection, these isolated signifiers, divorced from their original context, often reveal darker, and more disturbing undertones.
