Ceòl is Craic returns to the CCA stage!

Gaels le Chéile will be our first live gig since March 2020 and the first post-lockdown music event at Glasgow’s CCA.

The Paddy Callaghan Trio

Gaels le Chéile is our annual celebration of the shared Gaelic / Gaeilge culture of Scotland and Ireland and is presented this year as part of Colmcille 1500, the celebration of the life and legacy of Colmcille / St Columba, 1500 years after his birth.

Gráinne Holland makes her first solo appearance at Ceòl is Craic. Belfast-born Gráinne has released three critically acclaimed albums and has carved out a career as a traditional Gaeilge singer, broadcaster and teacher. For this event she will be joined by Eamon McElholm (Solas, Stockton’s Wing) on guitar and Emma Robinson on flute and whistle.

Marit Fält and Rona Wilkie meld tunes and songs to create a new music that’s uplifting, daring, harmonious, playful and borderless, ranging from evocative near-classical movements through elegant polskas to buoyant reels, brought to life by Rona’s multi-personality fiddle playing and Marit’s breath-taking mastery of the versatile låtmandola.

Paddy Callaghan is a virtuoso button accordion player who has appeared at countless festivals in Scotland, Ireland, the USA and throughout Europe. Paddy is Glasgow-born but draws musical inspiration from his strong family ties to Ireland’s Donegal area.
