Creative Lab Residency
Ian Giles
Mon 21 October — Thu 14 November 2013
Ian Giles
During his residency at CCA, Ian Giles will explore the convergence between video and sculpture, and the role of language in his practice. He will use the time to develop how video can be thought of as sculpture and how words and language have a physicality.
Ian Giles is currently a LUX Associate Artist 2012/13 and a graduate of the MFA Fine Art course at Slade School of Fine Art, UCL.
Selected recent exhibitions include: 21st Century Screening, Chisenhale Gallery, London; BP Saturdays, Tate Britain, London; Captivity, TJ Boulting, London (solo, 2012), Outpost Open Film, Outpost Gallery, Norwich (2012); Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art (group show with the duchy, 2012); Ortolan - a Tragic Opera, Resonance FM, London (solo, 2012); Object Subjects, Silverman Gallery, San Francisco (2011); Whitstable Biennale (2010) and After Cravan, Oriel Davies Gallery, Wales (solo, 2009).
