Creative Lab Residency

Enoch Cheng

Mon 1 August — Fri 26 August 2016

Enoch Cheng

As an artist working across the medium of the moving image, installation, theatre and performance, Enoch Cheng will take Glasgow Botanic Gardens as a point of departure to explore the nature of memory. At the same time, he will try to investigate the history of the dance culture in this post-industrial city.

Enoch Cheng is an artist, writer and director. His practice involves moving image, installation, theatre and performance. Concerned with the everyday subtleties in contemporary urban lives, his works explore recurrent themes of place, travel, fiction, memory, time and destination. His works have been shown in festivals and exhibitions in Brazil, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Italy, Taiwan, Thailand, and UK. He received his MA in Creative Writing at Goldsmiths, London and BA in English Literature and Art History at the University of Hong Kong.
