In the Afterglow,
we’re all just Silhouettes,
dancing on the cave wall
We’ve Lost Dancing.

I have planned for this
I am prepared for this
I am ready for the death of Dale Jordan Thrupp

Please come dance with me, one more time
and then we can say goodbye

This performance attempts to stage a ritual towards death, in the hope of releasing and transforming the ghosts of the past that linger within us.

Utilising movement, projection, light and music, this experiential work invites you to explore how we come to terms with our own mortality and inevitable death.

Created and Performed by Dale Thrupp
Featuring an original piece of music, Necropolis, composed by Tyler Zwink.

Dale Thrupp

Dale is an artist, curator, and performer.
At the core of Dale’s work is an exploration of Connection. How do we connect with each other, ourselves, and the planet?
Dale is a co-founder of Good Apple, a collective established in Glasgow 2020, that have organised and hosted several paid opportunities for early career artists to showcase their work on stage.
From 2014 to 2020, Dale worked at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre, as a theatre maker, facilitator, performer, producer, and director, focusing around widening access to the arts for young people and communities across the southwest of England.
Currently, Dale is co-leading The Orchard Project, a collaboration with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, aiming to transform the area around the RCS building into a publicly accessible green space.

This work contains very little spoken word.
For this performance, you will be invited to join Dale in the space up to 10 minutes before the advertised start time.

Into the New 2024

The Death of Dale Jordan Thrupp is part of Into the New, a festival of contemporary performance made in Glasgow. Into the New showcases the work by the final year BA (Hons) Contemporary Performance Practice students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
