Article 16: Right to Marriage and Family

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that “the family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State”. But how do we ensure we protect the rights of family units that might not, for example, resemble the “traditional” model? Former Scotsman columnist Claire Black, now a mum working as a Gestalt therapist, brings together a group of modern parents to reflect on how the family unit has evolved, and whether the language of health and human rights has evolved with it. Please come and join the conversation.
