Scottish Working Class Network

Drawing Workshop with Catrina McGregor

Thu 10 April 2025

Join the Scottish Working-Class Network for a life drawing workshop led by Catrina McGregor, which will encourage self-led creative expression while dealing with live human form. You can expect a relaxed atmosphere with shorter poses as well as a longer study. We will then head to the Third Eye Bar afterwards for some relaxed networking.

Our events are open to everyone but we always try to prioritise Scottish working-class people when space is limited. This means people born in Scotland or who have a meaningful connection to Scotland.

It also includes ‘new Scots’ which is a term used in Scottish Government Policy geared towards welcoming refugees and asylum seekers to Scotland and offers support and encouragement to integrate into our communities from day one.

SWCN do not ask for proof that you are working-class, however you may wish to consider factors such as:

  • Whether you attended state school or private school
  • Whether you are the first in your family to have attended university
  • If you received school dinners or meal tickets
  • Your personal or household income is below national standards

The Scottish Working-Class Network aims to support and platform Scottish, working-class creatives and provide paid opportunities and free events for this underrepresented section of people at all stages of their careers.
