Want to learn to grow from seed-to-seed in field conditions? Join a small, social garden team to help us prepare, sow, grow and harvest.

Working in all weathers on site at Lambhill Stables Community Garden, you will be involved in physical outdoor work including netting, composting, weeding, natural pest control, harvesting and monitoring the progress of our plants.

Over the course of the year, we will learn together how to successfully grow, nurture and nourish crops for organic seed production. The harvested seeds will be dried, sorted and packed for Glasgow Seed Library, for the community to grow in 2023.

Field Days are perfect for anyone who is keen to get outdoors, hands-on and learn-by-doing. No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to share and learn.

If you have them, please bring gardening gloves and outdoor boots, and wear warm, waterproof layers.

October

In October, we will be harvesting the last of the seed from this year's plants, sowing cover crops, and lifting beetroots for safe winter storage! Meet us at the garden shed: you do not need to stay all day, drop-in and leave when you like.

Accessibility

Some tasks at Field Days can be made wheelchair accessible - please email glasgowseedlibrary@cca-glasgow.com if you have limited mobility and would like to be involved. You can also email us in advance to let us know of any other access needs.
