Bad Rap
Although it started in the South Bronx in the ‘70s, hip-hop culture today has transcended all racial and language boundaries. Standing testament to this are four Asian-American rappers trying to break into a world that treats them as outsiders. From battle rapping to tongue-in-cheek songs, unapologetically abrasive visuals to conflicted values, Dumbfounded, Awkwafina, Rekstizzy and Lyricks turn the most skeptical critics into believers. With dynamic live performance footage and revealing interviews, Bad Rap is an exuberant and revealing document of unshackled artistic passion in the face of an unsung struggle.
