GIOfest XII Day 2 Evening Concert

Friday evening’s performances in the CCA Theatre will all be devoted to our next special guest, a giant of improvisation and a true pioneer of new music: Alvin Curran.

GIO will be performing a piece that Alvin has adapted and arranged specifically for the GIO musicians playing tonight. Over the course of the evening GIO will play in large and smaller groups, all devised and curated by Alvin.

GIOfest is an annual festival in Glasgow providing a platform for improvising musicians and artists, organised by Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra, a large improvising ensemble of musicians from diverse artistic backgrounds ranging from free improvisation, jazz, classical, folk, pop, experimental musics and performance art.
