GIOfest XII Day 3 Evening Concert

All of Saturday evening will be hosted by Corey Mwamba. The entire festival this year is being showcased on the new BBC Radio 3 Show: Freeness, and its presenter, Corey, will be around for the entire weekend.

Tonight, however, he has a special brief which is to determine the formats off a series of small group sets which will include all of the ensemble, Corey will MC the proceedings this evening and under his guidance and instruction, the ‘Corey-formed’ GIO small groups will present their new sounds.

Finally GIOfest XII will conclude with one completely free piece featuring ALL of the musicians from GIO and all our wonderful guests.

GIOfest is an annual festival in Glasgow providing a platform for improvising musicians and artists, organised by Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra, a large improvising ensemble of musicians from diverse artistic backgrounds ranging from free improvisation, jazz, classical, folk, pop, experimental musics and performance art.
