ANAHIT - the relationship between sediment and residues, geographies inscribed in the body, with vibration as a method. Linking the research begun with Գիշեր | gisher to the work of re-narration of somatic geographies that has been conducted for years in the context of Pleasure Body, Giorgia designs with ANAHIT a solo for their own body, a constellation, a format that oscillates between language, movement and soundscape. ANAHIT is the Armenian divinity that protects water and all fluid beings.

premonition
I’m interested in moving time
there is no foretelling
dance is divination
and words are perimeters
I don’t like the verb “evoke” but
it lands here
when I dance I know how to listen
dancing and writing are siblings
there is a form of reliance in premonition
I’m not scared of being in the presence of ghosts

Content note: The work mentions genocide (no descriptions of violence)

Giorgia Ohanesian Nardin is an Italian artist of Armenian descent working in the contexts of dance and live performance. Trained in dance, their work exists in the shape of movement video text choreography sound gatherings and deals with the relationship between dancing, divination and writing; with geography and the opposite of belonging; with a fetish for language, its politics and its many frictions.
