Glasgow Film Crew Film Lab: Producing

Ever wanted to produce a short film?
How do you attract quality cast and crew members on a minimal budget?

The Glasgow Film Crew has produced over 20 short films since 2013 and now we’re training the next set of producers to join our collective. In our Film Lab we’ll present some experienced local filmmakers who know what it takes to get an independent film made.

The first half of the workshop will set out what producing actually involves at zero-budget level, with practical tips and advice. We’ve selected scenes from our short films and we’ll examine them under a microscope to detail absolutely every step necessary to achieve what we see on screen.

In the second half we’ll take scripts from the attendees, workshop them as a group and create an action plan for production. This will be informal and we'll encourage active discussion and questions throughout.
