On August 29th 2014, Lennon Lacy, an African American teenager, was found hanging from a swing set in Bladenboro, North Carolina. Local officials quickly branded Lennon’s death a suicide, but his family believe he was lynched. Jacqueline Olive’s powerful film documents their struggle for justice, whilst dissecting other individuals and communities who are still lamenting America’s racial hatred. Narrated by Danny Glover, this multi-award winning film holds a mirror to American history, and seeks justice for those who suffered. Warning: disturbing content and graphic images.
