Dont Talk To Irene
Dubbed ‘Dirty Dancing meets Cocoon for girls with low self-esteem’, Don’t Talk to Irene is a sassy crowdpleaser in which you will cheer the underdog every step of the way. All 15-year-old Irene (Michelle McLeod) wants in the world is to join the cheerleading squad and be Geena Davis, who provides encouragement from a poster on her bedroom wall. When Irene finds herself suspended and having to do a stint of community service at a retirement home she is inspired to recruit an unlikely dance team bringing the whole community together. A witty heartwarming gem with lots of laughs.
Also screening at Glasgow Film Theatre, Tue 27 Feb, 3.50pm
