Glasgow Film Festival Wild Roses (Dzikie roże)

Anna Jadowska’s latest feature paints an intimate and complex portrait of a young woman struggling to face up to her role as mother and wife. After a hospital stay, Ewa (Marta Nieradkiewiz) returns home to work on a plantation growing wild roses. With rumours circling her conservative small town, Ewa must deal with the consequences of the time spent apart from her family. Marta Nieradkiewicz’s exceptional performance brings a truth and depth to the screen, illustrating a nuanced understanding of a woman dealing with inner conflict.
