Glasgow Seed Library Launch: Seed Saving Workshop with Abi Mordin
Fri 14 June 2019
Seed Library
Join us in the CCA foyer for a seed saving workshop to launch the Glasgow Seed Library. Abi Mordin from Propagate will host a discussion for anyone interested in learning how to grow their own food and save seeds for the future. Abi will talk about different kinds of pollination, basic plant biology and crops that grow well in Scotland, as well as discussing the affects of changing climate, food security and the stranglehold seed companies and corporations have over our food production and growing culture.
Abi is a Glasgow-based food activist, and a co-director of worker cooperative Propagate. She has been working across community and local food projects for over 20 years, and is passionate about food sovereignty and resilience. An experienced grower, facilitator, practitioner and researcher, her inclusive and collaborative attitude encourages everyone to be involved in thinking about and creating sustainable food systems. Abi is Chair and co-founder of Glasgow Community Food Network, co-founder of Glasgow Food Policy Partnership and holds an MSc in Food Security.
Places for the workshop are limited but if you can't book a place, please join us at 5.30 for drinks and herbal tea and a peruse of the Glasgow Seed Library - in the foyer.
