An evening of reading, performance and screening presented by the MLitt Art Writing at The Glasgow School of Art.

Good Lighting features graduating students and the inaugural School of Fine Art Practitioner in Residence, Kate Briggs (hosted by Art Writing 2022-23).

This event will also launch the third edition of The Yellow Paper: Journal for Art Writing, edited by programme leader Laura Haynes and featuring proceedings from the Biographical Fictioning Masterclass held in April 2022, with Paul Mendez in conversation with Susannah Thompson, writing by Rebecca Fortnum, Elizabeth Reeder and Kate Briggs, alongside 2022’s Art Writing graduates. This year, a special imprint also publishes Cascadence, by prizewinning Art Writing graduate Sara O’Brien. Sara was the 2021 recipient of GSA’s prestigious Foulis Medal for outstanding achievement and winner of The Yellow Paper Prize.

From 24 – 27 August, the graduating cohort will be in residence at Intermedia, CCA, presenting new work, publications, a showreel of film and moving image, and a series of evening workshops. More details will be released soon via Art Writing and GSA media.

Class of ’22 includes: Alex Bottomley, Donald Butler, Marie-Chantal Hamrock, Sarah Long, Rachel Loughran, Ciarán Mac Domhnaill, Lucie McLaughlin, Caitlin Merrett King, Rebekah Raine Probert, Clara Raillard, Ben Redhead, Esraa Shanawaz, and Kate Taylor
