Death and Killing in Southeast Asia
Sometimes she turns into a beast, a destroyer, a monster, a kuntilanak.
The innocent and timid one, in a sort of amok, kills. To retain innocence she assumes a separate form, for shape shifting helps outsiders differentiate her separate personalities. But in reality, the meek comes banded with violence. With passion comes madness. With kindness, destruction.
This program features six short films from Southeast Asia.
Curated by Tan Chui Mui, Next New Wave.
