Bob Moyler discusses collaborative cyborg performance, the processes behind Hacking The Android Circuit, coincidence and contingency, and the joy and pain of working with humans and hoovers.
“With a shift into cyborg performance, the former notion of a “universal subject” is no longer possible; the shift produces a significantly altered, radically inclusive “universal” in which particular bodies are not over-looked but rather become active and interconnected links in the formation of cyborg subjectivity” (Parker-Starbucks, 2011).
Is it possible to collaborate with technology as cyborg subject during the theatre making process?
This pre-performance talk will also explain The Robot and Bob’s live adaptation relationship with Torch-rnn, a recurrent neural network. Torch-rnn is a biologically inspired computer architecture that uses deep learning to generate text character by character.
