Remarkable Scots
Join Scottish author, playwright and film maker Jerry Brannigan, in conversation with writer and screenwriter Gerry Byron, as he discusses the characters included in his new book, 12 Remarkable Scots. Included in this first volume of a continuing series are six men and six women whose lives have impacted on Scotland's history or culture from around 1300 to the present day.
In his latest book, Jerry has freshly researched the lives of six men and six women whose lives have touched the history or culture of Scotland.
Of special mention will be Alan Fletcher contemporary of Alasdair Gray and Carole Gibbons at the Glasgow School, of Art, along with Victoria Drummond, the first female marine engineer and first woman member of the Institute of Marine Engineers.
Jerry has spoken at many venues and events including the Edinburgh International Book Festival, Glasgow's Aye Write Book Festival and various groups and libraries including the National Library of Scotland, the Mitchell Library and Kilmarnock's Dick Institute.
