Lilt, Twang, Tremor Sarah Rose - The Weather

Sat 13 January 2018

Cca theweather kv0u

Climates of words, spoken, read, written and recorded.

A series of experimental forecasts

The weather is familiar. It is oppressive. It is shared. It is close. It is the backdrop. It is honest. It is boring. It is energy. It is transitional.

For a long time, the weather has held together conversations exchanged between strangers.

The weather is atmosphere. It is a medium containing messages. It is media. The weather is rhetoric. If the weather is also idiosyncratic and the earths climate is changing , then perhaps also might the way we communicate and the conversations that we have.

Using a series of prepared scripts of collated anecdotes, stories, news articles, transcriptions, audience members will all become participants in this event in the activities of reading and listening. The event will be recorded to create a new sound piece. With an introduction by the artist.

If you would like to attend the event and require BSL interpretation for the discussion, please get in touch with boxoffice@cca-glasgow.com know and we’ll book this for you.
