Enjoy reading and thinking about nature? Looking for a creative outlet?
Join a creative writing workshop hosted by poet and nonfiction writer Alycia Pirmohamed, and explore storytelling, nature and belonging in a small group.
Alycia Pirmohamed's award-winning poetry collection Another Way to Split Water was published in 2022. In 2023, she won the Nan Shepherd Prize for underrepresented voices in nature writing for A Beautiful and Vital Place (forthcoming). Pirmohamed teaches creative writing at University of Cambridge and is the founder of the Scottish BPOC Writers Network.
All welcome, no previous writing experience is necessary. You will have the opportunity to create your own work, which you can choose to include in a publication produced by Glasgow Seed Library later this year.
Tickets are available on a sliding scale, from £0 - £10 – please pay no more than what you can afford. If you would like to read Pirmohamed's book, you can purchase a copy at Aye Aye Books, CCA, or read for free in our Reading Room in an upcoming Seed Study session.
This workshop is part of a series curated by Glasgow Seed Library’s 2024 researcher in residence, Tilly Nevin, and supported by Scottish Graduate School for Arts and Humanities.
