My Dad’s Tapes

d. Kurtis Watson (Canada, 2024) 1h22m

A remarkable trove of home video tapes spark filmmaker Kurtis Watson to embark on an investigation into repressed memories from his past. Rooted in care, Watson creates space for his whole family to engage, relive and think through the circumstances and mental state of his father leading to him taking his life. My Dad’s Tapes captures a poignant and raw cathartic journey of familial healing and reconnection.
