Net-Zero Citizen's Panel
Join a Citizen's Panel on the public impacts of Net-Zero and share your views on climate change policies with scientists!
This event brings together members of the public and scientists from Imperial College London to reflect on policies that are currently being considered by the government to achieve net-zero by 2050. These include changes to domestic infrastructure and activities such as cooking and heating, and a switch to electric vehicles. Contributing knowledge from your life, you will share your thoughts on the potential impacts for different members of society, and what it would take to change our behaviours in line with these policies in order to meet the UK's climate targets by 2050.
Ideas and questions documented during the citizen's panel will be used by Imperial's School of Public Health to situate their research into how the public health and economic burden from air pollution can be reduced by climate policies, and better understand their social acceptance. This will inform their recommendations to policy makers.
The event will be led by Dr Sean Beevers, Reader in Atmospheric Health, and Daniela Fecht, Senior Lecturer in Geospatial Health (both Imperial College London).
Following the Net-Zero Citizen's Panel, you are invited to join Encounters with Climate. This screening event features films commissioned as part of Argyll Beacons and the premiere of Air Quotes, a film by Louis Brown for East London Cable, commissioned by Imperial College London.
