An interactive story-telling experience about the olive harvest in Palestine using puppetry, for kids aged 5-12. The workshop will involve story-telling, puppetry-making, and performing a short story about land, food, family, community, and perseverance.
Inspired by Wafa Shami and Shaima Farouki’s book Olive Harvest in Palestine, a plea for a free Palestine where olive trees blossom in peace.

Tickets available on a sliding scale, with all funds from this event
donated directly to Gaza. Please book 1 space per child - all children
must be accompanied by an adult.
About the guests
Maya El Naha is an artist, writer, and mother based in Glasgow. Their multidisciplinary practice explores spiritual, social, and scientific ecologies, and often creates unexpected alliances to invite alternative perspectives. They have been published across multiple formats and have shown internationally.
Gonca Yalcin is a researcher and artist originally from Istanbul, currently based in Glasgow. Her research is on contemporary puppetry and performance practices in the Middle East, and explores how artistic practices can offer insights into questions of resistance and alternative forms of living and relating to each other and to other worlds.
