OMG: An Interview with the Almighty is a multi-layered film exploring the divine through a modern, queer perspective. Hosted by Chichi, an atheistic figure, the film dives deep into difficult biblical topics, tackling God’s controversial actions surrounding rage and punishment. In the second section, Chichi, embodying both creation and humanity, questions God’s love and the necessity of Yeshua’s sacrifice, leading God to confront the grief of separation from Creation. The third section reveals the Usher as the Holy Ghost, engaging directly with God through live reading of Chichi’s text. The Usher’ addresses themes of forgiveness, redemption, and self-compassion. Ultimately, the film portrays God’s journey towards reconciliation with Creation, self and a newfound, gentle gaze upon it. With music and subtitles underscoring the narrative.

Mathilde Darmady is an artist ripped in half.  One part of his feral soul lives in the Flows of the North where his ecological practice invests in community.  He is working on a biodiversity project with NatureScot, rewilding landscape, flora, fauna and folk. Mathilde’s cosmopolitan half lies, queerly enough, in Glasgow. Drag, film, narrative and personae form the core of his work which explores conundrums in his mind. Mathilde locates power dynamics, as seen in ‘Guess what’, a game of fate and loss in landownership. Mathilde’s playful style reveals an intense desire to understand and be understood.
