Uriel Orlow
Theatrum Botanicum is an extensive body of work by Uriel Orlow encompassing film, photography, sound and archival material that uses the botanical world as a stage to discuss the links between nature and humans, rural and cosmopolitan medicine, tradition and modernity across different geographies, histories and systems of knowledge. As part of Refugee Festival Scotland, Uriel Orlow is showing Muthi, What Plants Were Called Before They Had a Name and a new work, Beautiful but Dangerous as a way to think on migration and citizenship through botanics, botanical nationalism, plant migration and other legacies of colonialism.
