Saramago present: Frank Gossner (Lagos Disco Inferno / Voodoo Funk)

Frank Gossner
Saramago and Breathing Walls (loosen up! Fortified Sessions) are proud to present intercontinental groove excavator Frank Gossner making his Scottish debut.
Frank Gossner is a man held in considerable esteem for both his West African digging escapades and a 20-odd year DJ career which has included much missed residencies in New York and Berlin with his Vampyros Lesbos and Soul Explosion parties. More recently his flawless Voodoo Funk reissues and the dancefloor melting Lagos Disco Inferno comps and 12" series have assured his reputation as one of the worlds foremost collectors of Afro Funk, Nigerian Disco and Afrobeat. A reputation for digging hard won and well deserved, as outlined in the peerless Voodoo Funk blog.
However, jaw-dropping (and mouth watering, if you're a record geek) as the photos of men in breathing apparatus clambering through basements crammed with mountains of vinyl or avoiding getting caught in tsunamis of wax in bombed out radio stations are, we know better than to let the facts get in the way of a good party, which is after all, why we're here. Rest assured the rareness of the groove is as nothing if it fails to make you move. Frank knows the ways of the dance and his sets burn so you can't keep still. This will be a night of music which deserves a way better introduction than YouTube rips and laptop speakers so we're beefing up the sound system with extra subs to ensure it gets directly to your hearts, heads and feet.
This is a rare European adventure for Frank, as he's on a secret mission in Central America which may or may not last several years, so you'd be best to get on up and dance while you've got the chance! See you on the floor...
