Drop in for some quiet study time with seeds and books.
Over the past year, Glasgow Seed Library has been building up a donated collection of books and zines relating to growing, gardening, botany, ecology and food justice.
You can find everything from recipes for herbal medicines, fiction about seedkeeping, histories of land struggle and collections of poetry.
Alongside books, we also have plenty of seeds which can be sorted, packed and labelled, or even just looked at closely under a microscope.
For Seed Study sessions, we open up our Reading Room for folks to access for free, with a seed librarian on hand. Spend time consulting the books, read or write quietly, look at and draw the seeds, or do some seed packing and labelling.
Herbal teas will be available and you are welcome to bring a snack.
Seed Study sessions are free to drop in, but you will need to ask at CCA’s front desk for access to the reading room. Let us know you’re coming, by sending an email to glasgowseedlibrary@cca-glasgow.com.
Accessibility
The Reading Room is located on the third floor of CCA and is wheelchair accessible. There is an accessible toilet on this floor. Seed Study is designed as a relaxed and gentle event, and you are welcome to drop out as you need. The room comfortably hosts ten people, and has large windows for ventilation. Masks will be provided if you would like to use one. Please email glasgowseedlibrary@cca-glasgow.com if you have any access requests.
