How might we sing a seed library catalogue? How can song nurture a seed commons?

Join community song leader and songwriter, Jane Lewis, as we collaboratively craft a song that honours the seeds passing through Glasgow Seed Library.

Drawing from our experiences of this year’s growing season, we will create a song to celebrate these seeds and their stories.

A free lunch will be provided during the workshop.

We will gather again to learn and sing the song together, celebrating this year's seed harvest on Saturday 16 November at Woodlands Community.

This is part of a series of events exploring the idea of seed commoning, as part of a research project being conducted by Joss Allen with Glasgow Seed Library.

About the contributors

Jane Lewis is a community song leader, songwriter, mindfulness teacher, environmental and peace activist, gardener and crafter living in Portobello, Edinburgh, Scotland.

Joss Allen can be found in the garden, amongst the weeds and compost heaps. He is an artworker and researcher interested in how art influences ecological ways of being and practices of tending within more-than-human worlds.

The workshop is funded by The Royal Society of Edinburgh and The Williamson Trust, through a Healthy Planet, Healthy People award.
