Sonic Bothy Ensemble Immediate Buzz Shift

Sonic Bothy Ensemble is an award winning inclusive new and experimental music ensemble that explores, composes and performs in Glasgow and across Scotland. Rooted in improvisation and incorporating an eclectic range of influences including electroacoustic, minimalist, jazz, dance, new contemporary music and music theatre, Sonic Bothy’s music is always evolving. The group’s diverse and expanding instrumentation includes harmonium, glass instruments, percussion, violin, voice, found materials and piano.

Sonic Bothy’s members include musicians with and without an additional learning support need, some of whom are current performers in Scotland’s new and experimental music scene.

In recent years Sonic Bothy Ensemble has become a regular fixture in programmes at CCA, Mono and GIO Fest, with past performances that include Counterflows and Aberdeen’s Sound Festival.

Fresh from the launch of their first album in February 2019, Sonic Bothy Ensemble returns to CCA to perform a programme of new work created between spring and winter 2018-19.

All of Sonic Bothy’s performances are relaxed, welcoming audience members of all abilities.
