Celebrate spring with Glasgow Seed Library!
Join us to sing, chat, play and rummage through the seeds, as we mark the end of our time hosted by The Hidden Gardens.
Drop-in for free to the Boilerhouse and Medicinal Courtyard for a day of seedy talks, song learning, kid’s garden activities, and taster massages for plant lovers to help you unfurl into spring.
Throughout the day:
Borrow unusual, hardy and locally-adapted varieties of vegetable, herb and flower seeds, and deposit some of your own in the library.
Chat to seed librarians and get involved with our 2025 grow-out projects – from Glaswegian okra to tenement tomatoes to ‘ultracross’ collards!
Pick up a hot drink and tasty snacks from Pakistani Street Food.
Play in the garden with some children’s seedy activities
At specific times you can:
Learn a seed song, with community song leader Jane Lewis (11am)
Find out why seed saving is important for climate and community, with Hamshya (12:30pm)
Discover how to give your seedlings the best start, with Meg (1:30pm)
Try a taster massage with Eleni of Iremia Therapy (10min sessions from 1-3pm)
Seedy Socials are a relaxed opportunity to meet other local plotters, growers and aspiring seed savers. Everyone is welcome!
