SQIFF Queer Filmmakers Group

The Queer Filmmakers Group pitch is back and SQIFF is seeking a short queer film to support!

Last year, we hosted a pitch session from which Hot Young Geek Seeks Blood-Sucking Freak, A Different Home and A Tight 5 Hours got selected for production support. SQIFF awarded a total of £1000 across all three shorts and then gave them the spotlight by curating them for the SQIFF 2024 festival opening night. This year, we are seeking ideas for films of up to 15 minutes that can be developed by the 1st of June of 2025. In October, we will award £1000 to a single project. Each pitch will get 5 minutes to tell us about the story, genre, cast, crew... and any other details surrounding the completion of the film. The decision will be made on the day by the selection panel, which will be formed by industry professional Jack Goessens, SQIFF Trustee Sandra Leeming and QFG facilitator Leo Torre.
