SQIFF18 Workshop: Exploring LGBTQ Experiences of Sexual Violence

Thu 6 December 2018

Sexual violence workshop 0xjg

SQIFF partners with Forth Valley Rape Crisis Centre to offer an interactive workshop which explores the impacts of sexual violence on LGBTQ people, and considers how to improve the support available to the queer community from third sector feminist services. Discussion will focus on intersections of gender, sexuality, and sexual violence generally rather than talking about personal experiences. However, support information will be provided at the beginning and end of the session. Although this workshop is interactive, there will be no pressure to actively participate. LGBTQ people of all genders are welcome. Facilitated by Loraine Williams, an LGBTQ activist who has worked in the gender based violence sector for over ten years. Loraine currently works at Forth Valley Rape Crisis Centre, a feminist organisation supporting people of all genders affected by sexual violence.
