In a world where the eyes dominate, this workshop is designed to re-tune to the listening body and help us recalibrate the senses. Through (re)listening we can learn to be aware of the infinite vibrations around us, those within and those we give out. With this awareness and focusing on external and internal frequencies, we have the power to heal and strengthen individual listening and eventually expand to a collective sense. In this workshop, participants will learn listening techniques designed to help us survive the material realities of life with softness and love.
No previous experience necessary. All welcome.
About Cindy Islam
Cindy Islam is a pseudonymous sound artist who changes names to dodge compartmentalisation and the identity market. They have been working with sound within community/care spaces for over five years. With focus on existing frequencies and vibrational healing - creating live ambient soundscapes and listening experiences to (re)write histories and imagine futures. Warped and woven into this vibrational resonance is a constant critique of what it means to be an artist and how artistic labour is related to material reality and change.
