The Trip

Down on his luck TV director, Paul (Peter Fonda), embarks on a trip through mind, body and soul as he dabbles in the sixties drug de jour; LSD.

Directed by prolific filmmaker/producer Roger Corman during his time at American International Pictures, The Trip finds The King of Cult dipping his toe into the mind-bending world of the sixties counterculture. Unlike Hollywood, Corman embraced the changing times and, with his finger on the pulse, concocted a snapshot of 1960s hippie culture that hadn’t been seen on screen before, remaining as one of the few films depicting the counterculture as it was happening.

Corman was renowned for shepherding up-coming-talent and The Trip is no different; penned by Jack Nicholson, starring Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper, two years before all three combined for Easy Rider, changing the face of Hollywood filmmaking ever since.
