How do planetary cycles influence us and our seeds?
Join a new workshop series with astrologer Zoe Lorimer, who will describe the current positions of the planets and share some histories of agricultural astrology.
Together we will explore how seeds can be used for divination, and use this time to consider alternative ways of being with seeds, and allow them to influence us.
These workshops are for growers, those interested in growing, astrology enthusiasts and anyone who is curious about celestial bodies.
About the series
Taking place over three months, this series of workshops is hosted by Milk, Gathering Ground and CCA. You can attend a single workshop or as many as you want; the content will vary a little and allow for deepening your knowledge.
Accessibility
Each workshop will take place in a wheelchair accessible, heated indoor space, with accessible washroom facilities. Please email us if you would like to make an access request. We will provide some snacks and hot drinks - please get in touch if you have any food allergies
About the organisers
Zoe Lorimer is a Black-Scottish workshop facilitator, astrologer and community gardener. She is a Biodiversity Ambassador with the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, and has been saving seeds with Glasgow Seed Library since returning to Scotland in 2022 (after 8 years of living in East Asia). Her work focuses on how marginalised individuals can heal and reconnect with community through creative expression and working with nature. Zoe uses astrology as a tool for radical self-acceptance, utilising a combination of Hellenistic and 'Western' Modern astrology techniques to provide birth chart readings, teach a beginners astrology course and run community workshops.
Glasgow Seed Library is a collection of seeds and a community of growers. The library stocks organic and open-pollinated vegetable, herb and flower seeds for everyone to borrow, grow and save. Throughout the year, Glasgow Seed Library organises free workshops, talks and events around seed skills, community growing and earth care.
