This event is part of the Food & Climate Action Project’s West: Community Growing Network events. This series of workshops, talks & visits are for anyone based in the west of Glasgow who is involved with (or wants to get involved with) growing in their community. No prior expertise or knowledge is necessary, although those with this are welcome to come & share. Come together with others in your community to share ideas, learn skills, & support one another.
In this session, hear a friendly & immersive talk about how seeds relate to the food on our plate and how seed libraries can support community and climate resilience, & take part in some practical seed saving activities.
Learn about:
- The journeys that vegetables take from seed to our plates
- Why we should adapt seeds in our communities
- How to borrow and save seeds from Glasgow Seed Library
- Practical methods for saving seeds
- Hands on processing seed methods
An (optional) free networking lunch of soup & sandwiches will be served from 12.45 – 1.15. This will be an opportunity to hear what’s happening with community growing across Glasgow West & to make connections with your peers.
